About this place
If biryani is what brings you in, asking the staff about the fillings is part of choosing your dish. Kumar Dhaba’s menu lists biryani made with Indian rice for 1,400 yen, and advises guests to ask staff about the ingredients. One diner who ordered lamb biryani enjoyed rice infused with the lamb’s savoury flavour and the fragrance of basmati rice. Another meal left a strong impression for its biryani with bone-in meat and whole spices. Check the menu for the ingredients and choose a dish that offers a change of pace from curry.
At lunch, the sets let you choose how many curries to try. The menu lists Set A with 1 curry for 1,000 yen, Set B with 2 curries for 1,200 yen, and Set C with 3 curries for 1,500 yen. Set B suits sampling 2 options, while Set C gives you room to try several curries that catch your eye. One diner chose mild butter chicken and spinach curry with scallops in Set B, with half portions of naan and rice. The menu also features mild butter chicken with a gentle, tomato-based flavour, and pork vindaloo from Goa, described as spicy and tangy—useful pointers when choosing by heat level.
Alongside curry, Kumar Dhaba in Nishisugamo serves small plates and beer. Add jalfrezi, a spiced vegetable stir-fry, or cabbage and onion achar for another dish with a curry-centred meal. The lunch menu also lists a ladies’ set with 2 curry and cheese kulcha.
